Bessel Functions Calculator

This calculator computes Bessel functions, a family of special functions that appear when solving differential equations in cylindrical coordinates, such as heat conduction in a rod, vibration of a circular drum, electromagnetic waveguides, and signal filtering. Enter an argument, x, and an integer order, n of 2 or more, for up to three cases side by side, and the calculator returns twelve values for each: the ordinary Bessel functions of the first kind J0(x), J1(x) and Jn(x); the ordinary Bessel functions of the second kind Y0(x), Y1(x) and Yn(x); the modified Bessel functions of the first kind I0(x), I1(x) and In(x); and the modified Bessel functions of the second kind K0(x), K1(x) and Kn(x). The J and I functions stay finite at x = 0, while the Y and K functions rise towards infinity as x approaches zero, since they are the singular second solution to the same equation. Running three columns at once lets you compare how the values change as x or n varies, useful for checking oscillation patterns, zero crossings and decay rates without working through the series expansions by hand. Each column has a clear button, and results appear instantly once you click calculate. It is built for students, engineers and researchers working through applied maths, physics or engineering problems, and the figures are for study and reference rather than a substitute for verified engineering software.
