Accuracy reports are the ones we act on fastest, because a rate or threshold that has drifted out of date affects everyone using that calculator, not just the person who noticed. If you are reporting something that looks wrong, telling us which calculator, what you entered and what you expected to see makes it far quicker to fix. One thing we cannot help with: we are not financial advisers, accountants or lawyers, so we are unable to advise on your personal situation, review your return or tell you what to do with your money.

What To Include So We Can Actually Help
The single most useful thing you can send us is enough detail to reproduce what you saw. For a calculator problem that means three things: which calculator, exactly what you typed into it, and what number you expected instead of the one you got. A message saying a calculator is wrong takes considerably longer to action than one saying that the PAYE calculator gave $940.20 on a $1,200 weekly wage when it should have been closer to $960.
If you are flagging a rate or threshold that has changed, a link to the official source is enormously helpful. We verify every figure against Inland Revenue, ACC, the Reserve Bank, Stats NZ or the relevant legislation before changing it, so pointing us at the primary source saves a step and gets the fix out faster.
Reporting A Figure That Looks Wrong
Every calculator on this site carries a Verification and Methodology box explaining where its figures come from and when they were last checked. If a number looks wrong, that box is the fastest way to see what we have assumed, and it is worth a glance before you write, because the answer is sometimes a different assumption rather than an error.
That said, please still tell us if something looks off. New Zealand rates move: tax thresholds, ACC levies, use of money interest, KiwiSaver contribution rates and student loan thresholds all change on their own schedules, and a calculator that was right in March can be wrong in April. We run a maintenance sweep against the official sources, but a reader who spots a stale figure first is doing everyone a favour.
Suggesting A New Calculator
A large share of what gets built here started as a suggestion from someone who could not find the tool they needed. The most useful suggestions describe the decision you were trying to make rather than the calculator you imagined, because that often reveals a better tool than the one originally asked for.
New Zealand specific gaps are the most valuable of all. There is no shortage of American mortgage calculators on the internet, and very little that handles our bright-line rules, our ACC levy classifications, our KiwiSaver settings or our provisional tax methods properly. If you have been forced to use an overseas tool and mentally adjust the answer, that is exactly the gap worth telling us about.
What We Cannot Do
We are not licensed financial advisers, accountants or lawyers, and we cannot advise on your personal circumstances. That means we are unable to tell you whether to fix or float your mortgage, how to structure your business, what to do about a tax bill, or whether a particular investment is right for you. Our calculators and guides are educational tools that show you the arithmetic and the rules; the decision, and any advice about it, needs to come from someone licensed to give it and who knows your full situation.
We also cannot access, retrieve or correct your Inland Revenue records, KiwiSaver account or bank details. Nothing you enter into a calculator on this site is stored or sent anywhere, so we have no record of it to look up. For anything involving your actual accounts, contact Inland Revenue, your provider or your bank directly.
Privacy And What Happens To Your Message
Your message is emailed to us so that we can read it and reply. We do not sell it, we do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not pass it to third parties. The phone number field is optional and exists only for the occasions when an email bounces.
The two maths questions are a deliberate choice over a commercial captcha. It means there is no third-party script loading on this page, nothing tracking you across the web, no images to decipher, and it works properly with a screen reader. Both answers are checked on our server rather than in your browser, and a fresh pair is issued every time the page loads. Our privacy policy sets out how we handle information generally.
