Age in Weeks Calculator

This calculator works out your exact age in weeks from your date of birth, along with the equivalent in days and hours, and the odd days left over past a whole number of weeks. Weeks are a natural way to measure the parts of life we plan around, from school terms to pay cycles to pregnancy, so seeing your whole age in weeks gives a fresh and surprisingly relatable sense of the time you have lived. A year works out to just over 52 weeks, so by thirty you are already past fifteen hundred weeks, a figure that lands differently from the usual count of years. People use this tool to mark milestones, to help children picture the passage of time, to settle a friendly argument about who has lived more weeks, or simply out of curiosity. You enter your date of birth and the calculator counts the actual calendar days between then and today in New Zealand, allowing for every leap year, then divides by 7 to give whole weeks, showing the leftover days separately. Because it works from the real calendar rather than assuming every year is exactly 52 weeks, the answer is exact to the day. The count runs from midnight to midnight, so your time of birth is not needed, and a new week ticks over every seventh day.

Counts whole calendar days between your birth date and today in New Zealand, including leap years, then divides by 7. The extra days are what remains past the last whole week.

How it works

The calculator finds the number of whole days between your date of birth and today, counting the actual calendar so leap days are included automatically. It then divides that day count by 7: the whole-number part is your age in complete weeks, and the remainder is the extra days past the last full week. Multiplying the days by 24 gives the hours shown alongside. The result is exact to the day, treating both your birth date and today as whole days rather than using your time of birth. As a guide, a year is just over 52 weeks, a month is between four and five weeks, and 100 weeks is a little under two years.

Worked example

Take someone born on 15 June 1995. As at 2 August 2026, the actual calendar count between those dates is 11,371 days, with every leap year included. Dividing by 7 gives 1,624 whole weeks with 3 days left over, and multiplying the days by 24 gives 272,904 hours. That is the figure the calculator shows for the default date, and a new week is added every seventh day.
