How do I work out my age in weeks?

Count the calendar days between your date of birth and today, then divide by 7. Someone born on 15 June 1995 has lived 11,371 days as at 2 August 2026, which is 1,624 whole weeks with 3 days left over.

How many weeks are in a year?

A 365-day year has 52 weeks and 1 day, and a leap year has 52 weeks and 2 days, so a year is a little over 52 weeks. Because those extra days add up, the calculator counts your real days and divides by 7 rather than multiplying your age in years by 52.

Does it allow for leap years?

Yes. It counts the actual calendar days between your birth date and today, so every leap day is included automatically and the total is exact rather than an estimate based on 365-day years.

How it works

The calculator finds the number of whole days between your date of birth and today, counting the actual calendar so leap days are included automatically. It then divides that day count by 7: the whole-number part is your age in complete weeks, and the remainder is the extra days past the last full week. Multiplying the days by 24 gives the hours shown alongside. The result is exact to the day, treating both your birth date and today as whole days rather than using your time of birth. As a guide, a year is just over 52 weeks, a month is between four and five weeks, and 100 weeks is a little under two years.

Worked example

Take someone born on 15 June 1995. As at 2 August 2026, the actual calendar count between those dates is 11,371 days, with every leap year included. Dividing by 7 gives 1,624 whole weeks with 3 days left over, and multiplying the days by 24 gives 272,904 hours. That is the figure the calculator shows for the default date, and a new week is added every seventh day.
