Time Zone Difference Calculator

This Time Zone Difference Calculator helps you compare two time zones using their UTC offsets and convert a specific time from one to the other, so you can schedule calls, flights and online meetings without confusion. You enter the UTC offset for zone A, the UTC offset for zone B, and a clock time in zone A using the 24 hour format. The tool returns the difference in hours between the two zones and the matching local time in zone B, rolling over the clock correctly when the conversion crosses midnight. New Zealand sits at UTC plus 12 in standard time and UTC plus 13 during daylight saving, which is a long way ahead of Europe, the United Kingdom and the Americas, so working from offsets rather than guessing keeps you on the right day as well as the right hour. People who book international meetings, manage remote teams, follow live sport or coordinate with family overseas use it to avoid the classic mistake of being a full day out. A few good habits help. First, always confirm whether either location is currently observing daylight saving, because offsets shift by an hour and the change dates differ by country. Second, write times with the date attached when you send invites, since a 9am call in one zone can land on the previous evening somewhere else. Third, double check using a named city rather than only a number, as some regions use unusual half hour or 45 minute offsets. Used carefully, the calculator turns a fiddly bit of mental arithmetic into a quick, reliable check before you commit to a time.

Difference (A minus B)
Time in Zone B03:30

Difference = offset A minus offset B. Zone B time = Zone A time minus the difference, wrapped within 24 hours.

How it works

The difference is offset A minus offset B in hours. To convert, the Zone A clock time in minutes has the difference subtracted, then the result is wrapped into a 0 to 1439 minute range so it stays within a single day. The minutes are then shown back as a 24 hour clock.

Worked example

With Zone A at plus 12, Zone B at plus 1 and a time of 14:30, the difference is 12 minus 1, which is 11 hours. Subtracting 11 hours from 14:30 gives 03:30 in Zone B.
