Work Hours and Timesheet Calculator

This free work hours calculator and timesheet tool works out exactly how many hours you have worked across a week, plus what those hours are worth in pay. For each day, tick whether you worked, then enter your start time, finish time, and the length of any unpaid break in minutes; the calculator subtracts the break from the time between start and finish to give paid hours for that day, and it automatically handles overnight shifts where the finish time falls after midnight. As you fill in the week, it totals your hours in a running weekly figure shown in hours and minutes. Add your hourly rate and it converts your total hours into gross weekly, fortnightly, monthly, and annual pay, so you can see what a week's timesheet is worth before tax. It suits casual workers and contractors checking what they are owed, employees cross-checking a timesheet against a payslip, and employers totalling hours for weekly payroll. The pay figures shown are gross, before PAYE, ACC levies, KiwiSaver, and student loan repayments, and the calculator does not apply overtime, penalty rates, or time-zone and daylight-saving adjustments unless you build them into the times you enter. Use the PAYE and salary calculator to turn the annual gross figure into your real take-home pay. Treat the results as an indicative estimate, not a substitute for your actual payslip.

How to use this timesheet calculator

Tick the days you worked, enter your start and finish times in 24-hour or 12-hour format, and enter the length of your unpaid break in minutes. The calculator subtracts your break from the total time between start and finish to give your actual paid hours for each day, then sums those across the week.

If you enter an hourly rate, the calculator multiplies your total hours by that rate to show your gross weekly, fortnightly, monthly, and annual pay. These figures are pre-tax. To find your take-home pay after PAYE, ACC levy, KiwiSaver, and student loan, enter your annual gross into the PAYE and salary calculator.
