Countdown Timer

This tool is a free online countdown timer that helps you time anything from a quick task to a long study block, without needing an app or a physical timer. Enter the duration you want in hours, minutes and seconds using the three number fields, or tap one of the quick preset buttons for common lengths such as 1, 5, 15, 25, 30 or 45 minutes, or a full hour. Once you hit Start, the large display counts down in hours, minutes and seconds and turns blue while the timer is running. When the countdown reaches zero, the display turns red and pulses, the browser tab title changes to "TIME UP!" and an audio alarm sounds using your browser's built-in Web Audio API, so there is nothing to download and no permissions to grant. You can pause and resume at any point without losing the remaining time, or hit Reset to start again. The timer keeps accurate time even if you switch to another tab or minimise the window, because it tracks the actual end time rather than simply ticking down each second. Use it for cooking, exercise circuits, study sessions such as the Pomodoro technique, meetings, presentations or any task where you need a clear audible cue when time is up. Just make sure your device is not on silent mode, since the alarm plays through your speakers.
