NZ Business Days Calculator
This calculator counts the business days (working days) between two dates, or adds or subtracts a set number of business days from a date, which is the calculation behind most NZ contract, tenancy and government deadlines. Choose your mode: work out the business days between two dates, add business days to a date, or subtract business days from a date. Enter your start date, then either an end date or the number of business days to add or subtract, and choose whether the start date itself should count. You can also select your regional provincial anniversary day, from Auckland to the Chatham Islands, and choose to exclude extra custom dates such as a company shutdown. The calculator returns the total business days, calendar days, weekend days and public holidays in the period, plus a full breakdown showing the weeks and days, a written verdict, and a list of every public holiday that falls within your date range. It automatically excludes weekends and all NZ public holidays, including Matariki and Mondayised days such as Waitangi Day and Anzac Day when they fall on a weekend. This is useful for Tenancy Tribunal deadlines, employment notice periods, resource consent timeframes, bond lodgement, and other working-day rules that appear throughout NZ law and contracts. Because transfer rules apply around Christmas and New Year, check any date that affects a binding legal deadline.
