How it works

The calculator multiplies the session price by sessions per week, the weeks per term, the subjects and the children to give the cost per term, then multiplies by the terms in a year for the yearly cost. It also shows the weekly cost and the cost per child a year. Seeing the full-year figure makes the real commitment clear, especially where two subjects or two children quietly double the spend.

Worked example

At $55 a session, once a week, for 2 subjects and 1 child over 10 week terms, a term costs about $1,100, and across 4 terms a year that is about $4,400. A second child being tutored the same way would roughly double the yearly cost.
