Product Qualified Account Rate (PQA) Calculator

A product qualified account, or PQA, is a whole account or organisation that has shown real buying signals through its usage of your product, not just a single user. This calculator turns your total accounts and your qualified accounts into a clear PQA rate, which is the share of accounts that have crossed your qualification bar. You enter the number of active accounts for a period and the number of those accounts that became product qualified, and the tool returns the PQA rate as a percentage. Account based SaaS teams in New Zealand use this when many users sit inside one paying customer, because measuring qualification at the account level matches how deals actually close. It helps revenue and product leaders size their qualified account pipeline, prioritise outreach, and gauge how well onboarding lifts whole teams rather than individuals. To keep the figure meaningful, define what makes an account qualified before you measure, for example multiple active seats, a key integration connected, or usage past a set threshold across the account. Count unique accounts rather than users, hold the time window steady between periods, and review the rate monthly to see the effect of product and onboarding changes. It also helps to track how PQAs convert to expanded or paying accounts, since a high rate that does not convert can mean the bar is set too low. Pair this with your seat utilisation and expansion metrics for a fuller view of account health. The calculation runs instantly in your browser, so you can test different thresholds and account volumes and set realistic, account level targets for the quarter without building a spreadsheet from scratch.

PQA rate = qualified accounts / total accounts. Estimate only, not financial or tax advice.

How it works

The PQA rate is the number of qualified accounts divided by total accounts, shown as a percentage. The qualified count is the figure you entered. A higher rate means more of your accounts reach the qualification bar.

Worked example

With 800 total accounts and 120 qualified accounts, the qualified count is 120. The PQA rate is 120 divided by 800, which is 15.0 percent.
