Sphere Volume Calculator
This calculator works out the volume and surface area of a sphere from a single measurement, the radius, so you get both figures at once instead of working through the formulas by hand. A sphere is any perfectly round three-dimensional shape, from a ball or bearing to a dome, storage tank or scale model, and knowing its volume and surface area is useful for jobs like sizing a spherical tank, ordering coating by area, or checking a geometry assignment. For example, a sphere with a radius of 5 has a volume of about 523.6 cubic units and a surface area of about 314.2 square units, and because volume scales with the cube of the radius, doubling the radius makes the volume eight times larger rather than just double.
