Convert cubic centimetres (cc) to millilitres (mL) and other volume units. Because 1 cc equals exactly 1 mL by definition, the conversion is always a 1:1 ratio. This converter also shows the equivalent in litres, US fluid ounces, teaspoons, and tablespoons.
Enter a value in cc or mL below and all other fields update instantly.

The litre was originally defined in 1795 as the volume of one cubic decimetre (1 dm³). Because one decimetre equals ten centimetres, one cubic decimetre equals 1,000 cubic centimetres. Since there are 1,000 millilitres in a litre, one cubic centimetre equals exactly one millilitre. This relationship has been confirmed in successive SI revisions and is exact with no rounding involved.
The abbreviation "cc" comes from the Latin "centimetrum cubicum" and is especially common in medical and engineering settings. Doctors prescribe doses in cc, syringe volumes are marked in cc, and engine displacements are described in cc (or the larger unit of cubic centimetres, where 1,000 cc = 1 litre). Scientists and cooks generally prefer mL, but the numerical value is identical.
Because 1 cc = 1 mL exactly, the conversion formula is:
mL = cc × 1
There is no multiplication or division required. You simply carry the number across. For example:
Once you know the volume in mL (= cc), you can convert to other units:
| To convert mL to | Multiply by | Example (100 mL) |
|---|---|---|
| Litres (L) | 0.001 | 0.1 L |
| US fluid ounces | 0.033814 | 3.3814 fl oz |
| UK fluid ounces | 0.035195 | 3.5195 fl oz |
| US teaspoons (tsp) | 0.202884 | 20.2884 tsp |
| US tablespoons (tbsp) | 0.067628 | 6.7628 tbsp |
| US cups | 0.004227 | 0.4227 cups |
A doctor prescribes a 100 cc dose of oral medication. How many millilitres is this, and how does it compare to common household measures?
This matches the default output of the calculator above.
Sources and method: Conversion factors from the International Bureau of Weights and Measures (BIPM), SI Brochure, 9th edition. 1 litre = 1 dm³ = 1,000 cm³ = 1,000 mL (exact). US fluid ounce: 1 fl oz = 29.5735295625 mL (exact per US customary definition). US teaspoon: 1 tsp = 4.92892159375 mL (exact). US tablespoon: 1 tbsp = 14.78676478125 mL (exact).
This converter provides exact results for cc to mL (1:1 ratio) and high-precision results for other unit conversions using standard SI and US customary definitions. All conversions are for liquid volume measurement.
