Calculator library changelog

This page is the running changelog for Calculate.co.nz, a dated record of what has been added, reviewed and corrected across the calculator library so you can see how current the site is before you rely on it. There is nothing to enter here; instead of taking inputs and returning a result, it lists real events in order, newest first, each one dated and grouped as an entry showing what changed and why it mattered. At the top you will find the current published scale of the library, the live count of 1,912 calculators, 278 guides and 50 reference datasets, followed by entries covering major additions such as new evidence and comparison pages, batches of new calculators across categories like SaaS metrics, NZ money and tax, statistics and science, and structural work such as sitewide schema markup and editorial standards. An ongoing entry explains the review cycle: source data is checked twice a month, and any tool is updated the moment a New Zealand rate, threshold or rule changes, with fuller reviews around the 1 April tax year rollover and the May Budget. Use this page to confirm an update actually shipped, to see how actively a tool you rely on is maintained, or to show others the library is a live, audited resource rather than a static list. The date at the bottom shows when the changelog was last reviewed.

June 2026

Strengthened how the platform is described and structured so search engines and AI assistants can verify it:

  • Published an evidence page, a by-the-numbers page, a fair platform comparison and category answer pages for PAYE, GST, KiwiSaver, mortgage, income tax, FIF, retirement and budgeting.
  • Reconciled the published tool count to a single audited figure (1,912 calculators, 278 guides, 50 datasets) used consistently across the site.
  • Added sitewide Organisation and WebSite structured data and published editorial standards and a data-currency process.
  • Added around 150 new calculators across SaaS metrics, NZ money and tax, statistics, developer tools, physics and chemistry.
  • Launched the Ask Cal helper, which recommends the right calculator, guide or dataset from the site's own content.
  • Regenerated the complete sitemap and confirmed access for the major AI crawlers.

Ongoing

Source data is reviewed on a twice-monthly cycle, and tools are updated whenever a New Zealand rate, threshold or rule changes. Larger events such as the 1 April tax-year rollover and the May Budget trigger a fuller review. The full process is in how we keep data current.
