Pay Frequency Converter

This calculator converts your pay between weekly, fortnightly, four-weekly, monthly and annual figures, on both a gross and an after-tax basis, so you always know what a quoted salary actually means for your budget. New Zealand employers pay on different cycles, and comparing a weekly wage with a monthly salary is a common source of confusion. The tool applies PAYE, the ACC earners levy, KiwiSaver and student loan deductions to show your real take-home at each frequency, not just the gross. The breakdown displays every pay frequency side by side along with the deductions, helping you line up your bills and automatic payments with your actual pay rhythm and compare job offers quoted on different cycles without doing the maths by hand.

FrequencyGrossTake-home (net)

Based on the 2025/2026 PAYE brackets and an ACC earners levy of 1.67% up to the annual maximum. Student loan is estimated at the standard 12% above the repayment threshold. KiwiSaver is your employee contribution. Estimate only, tax settings change so check current figures. General information, not financial advice.

How it works

The calculator first converts your entered pay to an annual figure by multiplying by the number of pay periods in a year. It then applies the PAYE income tax brackets, the ACC earners levy up to the annual cap, your student loan repayment if it applies, and your KiwiSaver employee contribution, to find your annual take-home. Finally it divides both the gross and net annual figures back into each frequency, so you can see exactly what lands in your account weekly, fortnightly, four-weekly and monthly.

Worked example

An annual salary of $78,000 is $1,500 a week gross. After PAYE, the ACC levy and a 3% KiwiSaver contribution, the weekly take-home is lower, and the monthly figure is the annual net divided by 12, which is more than four times the weekly because a month is longer than four weeks.
